A good man, a great leader. I'm so thrilled that, fundraiser aside, tribute will be paid to his career of service on Monday night. And I'm so glad he serves as a continued source of inspiration for all of us here. Inspiration to follow his lead in thinking for ourselves, making our own decisions on the issues and taking what action we can as citizens to improve our future. I don't have a good picture to include at the moment, but maybe people can post some here. I don't know about you, but I could use a good picture and birthday thread about now!

BTW: CSPAN will be showing Elizabeth Edwards' memorial service live at about 1 pm today -- we may be able to spot JK there.

This was one of the first pictures I saw where you really see his eyes. I loved the conclusion to Hunter Tompson's endorsement - that from memory - was something like:

He had known Kerry for 30 years, and he was a good man with a brave heart, something that even Bush's best friends would not say of him.
