Does anyone have a Cardio Glide or Health Rider?
I've had a Cardio Glide for several years and I figure the motions used in riding it is very similar to the motions used in operating a rowing machine or ergometer.

I've been calculating the number of calories that I burned while riding the Cardio Glide as being equal to the number of calories burned for the same amount of time on a rowing machine or ergometer.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone here knew of any forums of people that use these machines instead of elliptical riders or recumbent bikes.....

Thanks in advance for your input!

1. I had one before,
and it was very rough on me...at the time, I was about 260 or so, and it worked me hard. My father in law had one, about three years back, and I had a hell of a time doing it for ten minutes, but I was roughly 100lbs heavier this time around....it worked me good...

I prefer the stair stepper, but the healthrider is damn close....I don't like the recumbent bikes either. My wife uses one, and it hurts my lower back badly...the first time I tried one, I lasted 20 minutes, before I stopped, and finished my 15k on my current bike...I just couldn't handle it, but my wife just loves the thing.

My only advice, is use the machine that works best for you, which you think works you the best....I don't know how much calories my walk, or my bike riding does, but it must burn enough to make me lose weight....but if I had the money, I'd buy me a stair stepper in a hearbeat...because it worked for me, I felt worn out/tired/sore when using it...aka I knew the machine worked me, and tested me, and I sorta/kinda dug that....:D

2. I ride my Cardio Glide for 30 minutes at a time.......
at the #2 resistance level.

I'm trying to get into the habit of riding the Cardio Glide for 30 minutes every morning, and then do a dance workout or Tae Bo or some other activity for 30 minutes in the evening to get in a full hour everyday.

My goal is to burn 3,800 calories a week through exercise, keep fresh fruits and veggies to snack on (high fiber, low calories), and use portion control during meal time to see if this helps me lose weight...........

3. Sounds like a plan, :)
I hope you stick with it. With my blood clotting issues, I cannot eat greens, or veggies that have a green root, like carrots for example. I'm not sure about fruit. my blood level has been off for a couple of weeks, and I think my consumption of apples has thrown it into whack...I don't know if apples have vitamin k, but I'm suppose to avoid the stuff like the plague.....
