Bearcats advance to Division II Championship game, ESPN2
With a stunning 33-3 victory over the Bloomsburg University (Pa.), Northwest Missouri State University, champions of the Southwest Region and 14-0 on the season have advanced to the NCAA Division II Championship game. The Bearcats face the Grand Valley State University Lakers of Allendale, Mi. The championship game will kickoff at 11 a.m. CST Saturday, Dec. 16, at Braly Municipal Stadium in Florence, Ala. The title game will be telecast live on ESPN2.

This will be the Northwest's second straight appearance in the championship game and fourth overall. Last year, the Bearcats finished the season as national runners-up after losing to Grand Valley State University, 21-17 in the championship game. The other two appearances occurred in 1998 and 1999 as the Bearcats won back-to-back Division II Championships.
