Glenn Beck is going to get someone killed. UPDATE with threat
by Fokozatos siker
Sat Jan 22, 2011 at 05:03:45 PM PST

Maybe that's his point. Is there a way under the law -- or protests, or whatever -- to stop this lunatic?

He's been going after Frances Fox Piven, a City of New York University professor, saying that she is responsible for a plan "to intentionally collapse our economic system."

So of course...now this 78 year old woman is getting death threats.

My GOD that man is a son of a bitch.

What did she do?

She wrote a plan to help poor people....FORTY FIVE YEARS AGO!!! That's right -- when Lyndon Johnson was president.

A complaint was filed with Fox Scumbag News saying they are putting her in danger.

Oh, no they're not, says Fox scumbag spokesman.

“ ‘The Glenn Beck Program,’ probably above and beyond any on television, has denounced violence repeatedly,” he says.

here is the link.http://www.nytimes.com/2011/01/22/business/media/22beck.html?_r=1&src=ISMR_HP_LO_MST_FB

And if she does get hurt -- gee, I'm sure they'll scream "wasn't us!!!"

UPDATE: Here is one of the threats...

“Somebody tell Frances I have 5000 roundas ready and I’ll give My life to take Our freedom back.”

52. What if a democrat was calling for the assassination of republicans
Think that could happen in the US? The FBI would be all over it. Suddenly there would be trumped up charges and smear campaigns. How long is this one sided hate fest going to go on? Nobody is saying fascism . And if they do allude to it, in a day or two tops they have to walk it back. But the right says anything and everything they want. Calling Obama a commie when every day he works for the fascist system which is America. IF he got out of line, he would be out of the WH in a heart beat and hillary would be installed.

58. Let's go even more basic than that
What if it were a minority saying the things that Beck or Rush were saying and death threats came after statements like theirs?

The Law is not touching him because he is a white Christian man...sorry but that is the truth.

Remember the Black Panthers? They did some stupid shit yes....but a lot of what they did was make threatening statements against the establishment and individuals....anyone remember what happened to them in the 60's abd 70's?

Same type of rhetoric except Beck, Rush and the TeaPartiers remain untouched by law enforcement.

http://www.itsabouttimebpp.com/Chapter_History/BPP_Pieces_of_History.html

http://redwoodcurtaincopwatch.net/book/export/html/211

What Beck, Rush, Palin and the TeaPartiers are doing is leading to Civil Unrest and a threat to the country. What is it going to take before the law does something about it? This is not simply Free Speech anymore.....

54. Frances Fox Piven is an elderly professor.
She works for clean elections and the underprivileged. You know who first started targeting her and working up the propaganda? Andrew Breitbart who planned and directed the video that got ACORN defunded.
Andrew also has worked for Drudge and Huff Po.

Odd, such an neocon was on the ground floor designing and directing Huff Po.This month's issue of Vanity Fair.

16. The FCC has no regulatory power over Fox News.
Edited on Sun Jan-23-11 01:19 PM by MindPilot
The only control the FCC has over cable is technical standards; they can't enforce "decency" like they can as a condition of granting a station a license to broadcast.

On Edit, D'oh! It just occured to me that Beck has a radio show as well. So the FCC could regulate at least what he says on the AM waves.

57. Ain't it interesting:
They sure can enforce decency. I have an amateur radio license and if I say shit, fuck, tit, etc. on the air, I get my license yanked in a heartbeat. If a little bit of tit is shown during Super Bowl, the Murkin people and the FCC go nuts. And yet, If Dreck says he'd like to kill someone on the air, he gets away with it - and gets more listeners. Fuckin FCC is more than worthless.

That is the reason Adolf Beck is still on the air. The PTB need lots of fear and anger, but they need to make sure it isn't directed at the people who caused it, i.e,. the billionaires and their employees (AKA legislators) in the repig & Democratic parties.

17. O'Reilly recently revealed his pet peeve with people like Piven
Edited on Sun Jan-23-11 01:57 PM by JohnnyRingo
It's his money and what the government does with it.

He believes the govt doesn't have the right to spend it on people who "don't deserve it", either because he thinks they're too lazy to help themselves, or they foolishly created families too big to support independently. Either way, when he talks about "his money" he always defends it by stating that "he works hard for it" (unlike us?) and the government shouldn't be allowed to make charitable decisions for him. That O'Reilly is demonetizing someone for advocating govt help for poor people is no surprise, but his motive isn't for a better society, it's his wallet and the fact that he'd rather people die than his taxes go to help them.

I and others have used the same argument for war spending only to be told firmly "I can't pick & choose where my tax money goes", and that's true for both me and Bill O'Reilly. It is also true however, that O'Reilly's rhetorical greed could get someone killed without him missing so much as a night's sleep, and that's one big sorry difference between him and responsible citizens who differ with govt spending.

Oops, on edit I realized the article is about Beck, not O'Reilly, but I imagine the same two tone oxford fits either man well.

39. I'm not denying that.
What I'm concerned about is that the NRA is making it easier and easier to acquire guns. And this crap on Fox that's inspiring these people to go crazy has already cost a lot of lives. Beck and his ilk are getting the crazies fired up to the point where they use their easily-acquired weapons to act on it. Look at Jim Adkinsson - he killed people and said that Fux News made him do it. That scares the shit out of me. And that's what this list has presented.

In the immortal words of eternal youth and my best attempt to feel your pain, let me say to Frances,"That is so mean and not fair!" But alas, just like the little child who hides under a table to escape a spanking because they aren't sophisticated enough to see the bigger picture, I'm sure you are very shocked to think your little secret to play master of the universe has been exposed.

My best advice, better get a security detail sweety... all "rulers" have to keep paid protection from the looneys and live somewhat isolated...sinks to be you now that part of your freedom has been stripped. I think someone said something about what goes around...

“Dr.” Piven has been dispensing her mad theories from the safe, rarified ivy towers of Academia for years. I can’t imagine anyone as insolated from the chaos she advocates. Now, Mr. Beck has turned he spotlight on her and she cries unfair. Tough. It is well past time that Piven starts reaping the whirlwind of her ideas.

She IS the far left; no one is using her. She’s using what resources are available to her, cabals of leftists throughout academia, the media, churches, and legal circles that work together on their anti-America agenda. Don’t think for one minute that Pivens is being used. She’s a user and destroyer.

Conservatives can use any words they want to incite the lemmings, and claim their innocence in doing so, yet it is this woman's own fault because of her words.

Right. How that can make sense, even in their own warped little minds is beyond me.

41. I have never written to Pox News to tell them what I think of them.
It struck me as a useless exercise guaranteed to have no effect whatsoever. But maybe it's time I did and maybe if there are others like me, it's time for them to write too.

43. Beck needs a dose of his own medicine.
What if someone was to threaten him with violence? How would he feel about that.
What if someone actually attempted violence against him, in retort to his calling for violence?
How would that go over?

50. < Defeatist
What does it matter at this point? One man calls for the killing of his opponents and not only remains on air, but earns fans... Another calls out others' hypocrisy, especially in "the name of the nation," and is kicked off the air for expressing an undesired truth.

Fuckitall... We've lost.

55. Beck will continue until his corporate masters no longer need him
It does not matter what Beck says. He is protected by his corporate masters because he incites others to do corporate dirty work. As long as he does what his corporate masters want, they will continue to encourage him and he will not be touched by the law.

63. you have no idea what is going on till you read this book.. a cult has taken over the GOP >Link>>
they profess that god and Jesus favor the rich.. wealth/power is proof of gods favor of a man, so it is a sin to tax a rich man/coporation... and the poor are being punished by god, so it is a sin to help the poor. good works make the poor worse off.. the only way a poor man can find salvation out of poverty is thru his accepting total submission to gods will... and how does he find out what is gods will is.?. well, gods self appointed representatives tell them what it is..

"snip...After several months of in-depth research and, at first, seemingly unrelated conversations with former high-level intelligence officials, lawyers, politicians, religious figures, other investigative journalists, and researchers, I can now report on a criminal conspiracy so vast and monstrous it defies imagination. Using “Christian” groups as tax-exempt and cleverly camouflaged covers, wealthy right-wing businessmen and “clergy” have now assumed firm control over the biggest prize of all – the government of the United States of America. First, some housekeeping is in order. My use of the term “Christian” is merely to clearly identify the criminal conspirators who have chosen to misuse their self-avowed devotion to Jesus Christ to advance a very un-Christian agenda. The term “Christian Mafia” is what several Washington politicians have termed the major conspirators and it is not intended to debase Christians or infer that they are criminals . I will also use the term Nazi – not for shock value – but to properly tag the political affiliations of the early founders of the so-called “Christian” power cult called the Fellowship. The most important element of this story is that a destructive religious movement has now achieved almost total control over the machinery of government of the United States – its executive, its legislature, several state governments, and soon, the federal judiciary, including the U.S. Supreme Court.

The United States has experienced religious and cult hucksters throughout its history, from Cotton Mather and his Salem witch burners to Billy Sunday, Father Charles Coughlin, Charles Manson, Jim Jones, David Koresh, Marshall Applewhite, and others. But none have ever achieved the kind of power now possessed by a powerful and secretive group of conservative politicians and wealthy businessmen in the United States and abroad who are known among their adherents and friends as The Fellowship or The Family. The Fellowship and its predecessor organizations have used Jesus in the same way that McDonald’s uses golden arches and Coca Cola uses its stylized script lettering. Jesus is a logo and a slogan for the Fellowship. Jesus is used to justify the Fellowship’s access to the highest levels of government and business in the same way Santa Claus entices children into department stores and malls during the Christmas shopping season...snip"

"snip...Jeff Sharlet and Andrea Mitchell have described Fellowship leader Doug Coe as preaching a leadership model and a personal commitment to Jesus Christ comparable to the blind devotion that Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Chairman Mao, and Pol Pot demanded from their followers.<40><41> In one videotaped lecture series in 1989, Coe said:

Hitler, Goebbels and Himmler were three men. Think of the immense power these three men had...But they bound themselves together in an agreement...Two years before they moved into Poland, these three men had...systematically a plan drawn out...to annihilate the entire Polish population and destroy by numbers every single house...every single building in Warsaw and then to start on the rest of Poland." Coe adds that it worked; they killed six and a half million "Polish people." Though he calls Nazis "these enemies of ours," he compares their commitment to Jesus' demands: "Jesus said, ‘You have to put me before other people. And you have to put me before yourself.' Hitler, that was the demand to be in the Nazi party. You have to put the Nazi party and its objectives ahead of your own life and ahead of other people.<40><41>
National Prayer BreakfastFellowship Foundation is best known for the National Prayer Breakfast, held each year on the first Thursday of February in Washington, D.C.<36><31> First held in 1953, the event is now attended by over 3,400 guests including dignitaries from many nations. The President of the United States typically makes an address at the breakfast, following the main speaker's keynote address. The event is hosted by a 24-member committee of members of Congress. Democrats and Republicans serve on the organizing committee, and chairmanship alternates each year between the House and the Senate.

At the National Prayer Breakfast, the President usually arrives an hour early and meets with eight to ten heads of state, usually of small nations, and guests chosen by the Fellowship.<57><58..."[br />
