127. Now the question is: Does Bush have the stomach for a filibuster fight
How can the conservatives say now that they shouldn't ask tough questions after they torpedoed a nomination and demanded answers?
Do people want anybody that Bush would nominate?
Can he go hard right here and survive?
The assumption is that he'll nominate a Priscilla Owens or some such, but do they really have the fight in them for that, and will people stand for an obviously anti-abortion nomination? Will it looked like he's caved to the radical Christian theocrats and completly collapsed the boundaries if government?
The Dems have a host of arguments here already built in, regardless of nominee.
