9. American's have always been introspective
they see the world from their own front porch. I'm as guilty as the rest and as Mark Twain advised the missionaries in China. That their attempts to civilize the Chinese made them susceptible to our own disease. That they could help them best by leaving them alone.

I question the plowing under of Savannah, what will it be in five or ten years? What will happen to the people once their native way of life is gone.
