These bumbling right wing nuts are going to get us all killed yet. Foreign press is covering these nuclear threats as is Voice of America (which some consider a propaganda tool). Need to take all with a grain of salt...still...frightening...

Ironically, the Congressman has plenty of company among those who, either because of the evil they do or the stupid things they say, have endangered us all. ...Ironically, Tancredo said it best a week earlier when he condemned a similar threat from a Chinese general. In response to Major General Zhu Chenghu's threat to use nuclear weapons against the US should China be threatened, Tancredo responded, "For a senior government official to exhibit such tremendous stupidity by making such a brazen threat is hardly characteristic of a modern nation..."

Over the last few months, there has been an obvious increase in tension between the US and China. A fortnight ago there was a heating-up of animosity on the military side, and a cooling-down on the economic side.

BEIJING, JULY 15: China should use nuclear weapons against the US if the American military intervenes in any conflict over Taiwan, a senior Chinese military official has said.

‘‘If the Americans draw their missiles and position-guided ammunition at the target zone on China’s territory, I think we will have to respond with nuclear weapons,’’ Major General Zhu Chenghu said at an official briefing.
