79. Yes, I think Clark helps Kerry, too

Clark's international experience, coupled with his military expertise, expands the focus of the primary campaign. This helps Kerry. He holds the international policy edge over Dean but also clearly trumps Clark in the domestic policy sphere. If Clark sticks his foot in his mouth and falters, then Kerry's candidacy is greatly enhanced.

By the way, the other winner here is Kucinich. He has interesting international ideas and will fare well in campaign debates sparked by Clark's intellect. I'm not saying he will get more votes, but he will gain more of a platform.

This is going to be one fascinating campaign...Clark has tremendous potential as a candidate and a leader but he's got to widen his horizons beyond that one speech he's been giving. He has to hire a crackerjack research staff and a couple of good writers. And he needs to cram a mountain of information into his head, analyze it and then articulate his conclusions. Think about a month's worth of mindnumbing study for final exams here. Of course, he'll be doing this while the RW is flogging him in the media...
