So this type of debate can occur?

Democrats: OK guys, the world is laughing at us, no one believes us anymore and we are losing a lot of business overseas because of the war and the American people have finally realized that we went to war for oil.

Republicans: While we are all aware that is true, we must come up with a plan to convince the people that the system of checks and balances is working.

Democrats: Well, we could do the investigation, create a big Bru Ha Ha, and then conclude at the end that the investigation could not conclude any wrongdoing outside of Libby and the Brits.

Republicans: OK, you go on the attack, bamboozle your following and we will assume a defensive stature....

Democrats: Deal!

Look folks, sorry to say that I have lost faith in our politicians, if the Democrats are not bullshitting us, then I'll be happy but I really do not believe any of those motherfuckers on Capital Hill anymore. I really am losing faith in our Democracy. Please convince me I am wrong.
