The movie with Morgan Freeman, Matthew McConouhy (sp), Anthony Hopkins and other superb actors left me crying like a baby!

I'm sure Steven Spielberg "enhanced" the story but it was soooooo powerful! John Quincey Adams before the Supreme Court argued for the slaves of Sierra Leone and won! This was in 1839, Martin Van Buren ruled lower courts not valid (executive branch) mainly because he feared the Civil War and didn't want to lose his upcoming election! My what a concept!!!

What an EDUCATION in true Democracy... what OUR Founding Fathers created, and what seems to be sooooo lost these days as we are RULED by this WH!!!

I presume the movie which was from 1997 caught the eye of someone and they deemed it IMPORTANT to air!!

Not a student of history and had not remembered it from school, I'm curious about the facts behind the movie. I Googled and found nothing.
