My 1000th Post. My Message: You Are All Perfect Just The Way You Are

Just occurred to me this will be my 1000th post. I guess that makes me an official DU'er, and couldn't be prouder if it did. Things have been chaotic in GD lately, but that is part of what makes DU one of the greatest sites I've ever come across. As I quickly reflected on my DU history a few things occurred to me:

1. I'm at 1000 now, but feel no different than my first. I'm perplexed as to where the 1000 milestone originated from, or why it causes other posters to not feel as threatened than reading a poster with say 200. From what I've seen, once over 50-100 posts the risk of "freeper alert" is reduced to almost nothing anyway. I have seen some incredibly well thought out and inspirational posts by those under 1000, or even 100, and have also seen some of the most close-minded undemocratic responses come from those over 1000. Post count means nothing, as once every one of us had our 1st post and were no less liberal then.

2. You are all perfect just the way you are. I've never seen a community with such diversity and intelligence, and am proud to be part of it. RW sites I've seen are not nearly filled with such diversity and passion, and the diversity of opinion found here is something for all of us to be proud of. I go tit for tat sometimes, sure. Many of you do as well, and I think that spirit is part of what makes DU so much fun. Some posters are passionate, some thoughtful, some sensitive, some reflective, some fiery, some intellectualy superior, some straight laced, some with extremely strong convictions, some with debating skills that I could never equal, some with incredible humor, and many with incredible talent. Every single one of those types come together to make DU one hell of an exciting place. You are all perfect just the way you are, even the ones that piss me off. But piss me off or not, at the end of the day I would fight right beside you as a brother when push comes to shove.

3. Everyone on this site is a personal hero of mine. If you are here, than you are aware of all the horrible things hidden from most. You are here for truth, justice and to join the fight in cleansing america from this infectious disease that is destroying us. We all face ridicule and mockery on a daily basis from those that don't understand, and we all by default need a thick skin to be out in the world fighting this fight from the ground up as we are. For all of your efforts, for being here, for refusing to accept our fate as beyond our control, you are all my heroes.

4. I have 1000 posts. I remember about 100. How the fuck I have 1000 I'll never know, as damned if I remember hitting the reply button that many damn times. Guess that just shows how addictive this place is and how quick this place moves.

5. You all rock, period.
