in the 50s. If you want to do the real tourist stuff, go to the Empire state building or down to Battery Park & take the ferry to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. You can't go all the way up into the statue anymore, but Ellis Island is absolutely fascinating.

One more thing, if you are going to the Botanical Gardens in the Bronx, you should also go to the Bronx Zoo. It's right there as well and it is really well done.
