Seinfeld made a joke about making a movie called a "B Movie" and Spielberg pretty much greenlighted it on the spot. This guy didn't get rich ignoring the chance to be a part of things like Jerry's first real project since the show ended.
That being said, I am almost positive that this was going to be released a while ago like 6 months or so but got pulled back and reworked-probably had bad focus group results.
Yeah McD's and Seinfeld-what COULD go wrong?? but your point about his wife's book is a good one.
