My friend Brian's dad recently retired from the city of Philadelphia in that position for the community of Roxborough. The pay isn't great (He made in the mid $40Ks) but as a city employee the benefits are fantastic.

Alternately, if you are all about the money...you manage golf courses. $100K/year easy.
