So, the show's going to start back up in April, supposedly, and we'll all find out who the 5th Cylon is.

*****SPOILERS THROUGH SEASON 3 BELOW THIS POINT******

Okay. Still here?

So, this is speculation, of course, but I think the 5th cylon is Laura Roslin, and here's why.

1. It has to be a main character, and since we already know the Chief, Tigh, Sam, and Tori are the first 4, that leaves Baltar, Old Man Adama, Starbuck, Lee, and Laura, really. Unless they want to cop out and make it Gaida or someone minor, but I don't think they'll do it.

2. The old man would be a really interesting choice, since he's sort of the moral center of the show. It would be the ultimate expression of "humans are really no different from Cylons". However, I think he's ruled out because he had two children, and Hera, Sharon's child, was supposed to be the miracle baby, first Cylon/human child.

3. After everything that's happened with Starbuck, I just don't think they're going to make her the 5th Cylon. She's got something going on, and since Lee did watch her plane blow up and then all of a sudden she's back, it builds a case that it could be her, but I just don't think so. Call it intuition.

4. Laura got a sudden headache or some sort of pain when they entered the nebula, as the others were experiencing their "All Along The Watchtower" moment. Also, and this is the big thing for me, she had that dream in the opera house, and who were the others who had the simultaneous dream? Six (Cylon), Sharon (Cylon), and Hera (half Cylon). How could she have shared consciousness with them if she herself wasn't a Cylon?

5. Baltar is the ultimate representation of human failing, so I don't think it will be him, plus the Cylons told him he wasn't one, and he witnessed the 5 in the temple, so it wouldn't be him, would it?

6. The other option is Lee, but since he is Adama's son, I doubt that too.

So, those are my theories. Can you tell we just finished watching Season 3 last night? :D
