close my eyes and breathe slowly and deeply

But the high-altitude views are so completely different, from my usual visual experience, that I've never been terrified by the height: with appropriate weather, there's a great view of clouds; at night, there are the fascinating patterns of city lights

Windows typically have sliding shades that you can pull down if the view bothers you at any time
