My dogs killed a friend's cat late last summer. I don't really know what happened as I wasn't there when it occurred. I can't even begin to describe how I felt ... it was horrible on a number of different levels. I know it would have never happened if I were around because I keep close tabs on my animals but someone else was dogsitting them and the cat. No one saw it happen. The best we can figure is that the little annoying dog I kind of "ended up with" started something with the cat and my lab mix jumped in to his defense. Either that or they thought they were playing. They both live happily and respectfully w/ three cats, so it was very unexpected and horrifying.

As someone that's been the responsible party on the other side of what you're going through ... I'm very, very sorry. :hug:
