 In 1989, in response to a mass shooting, the UK Parliment banned and confiscated what we would call "assault weapons". They refused to renew the existing owership permits or issue new ones. In 1998, in response to another mass shooting, the UK Parliment did the same thing for handgun permits. In that time, the UK's homicide rate has just about doubled. However, their GUN homicide rate is at historic lows.    |
