Amid the fighting, something good

Had a rather interesting discussion last Saturday with a batch of assorted friends who also want to see the unelected fraud out of the White House this year.

A couple of us were Clark supporters, (myself included). A batch were Dean supporters, and there was even a couple for Kerry and one for Kucinich. And not all were Democrats either, (A couple of independents and one GOP member who would rather have Dean elected than Bush).

Now, if you based your assumption on some of the threads I've seen here, you would expect us to be fighting like cats and dogs.

And you would be incorrect.

I don't recall anyone saying anything nasty or hateful about any of the candidates we were supporting. The Clark Supporters all liked Dr. Dean as well, and the Dean Supporters all liked Gen. Clark too. The Kerry people and the Kucinich supporter were the same. While we had our favourites, we all agreed that any of our candidates would make an excellent president, and that we would all support and help the one who got the nomination to go on and win in November.

So please, when the infighting and snipes get too much, remember that we're all in this together, and that the goal in November is to make sure the Democratic nominee causes Bush to lose his second election in a row. No matter if the Democratic nominee is Clark, Dean, Kerry, Kucinich, or any of the others, all of them would make a fine president, and all of them deserve all our support, even if they aren't who we wanted in the primaries.

(Note - edited to remove terms that I wasn't aware some may find offensive.)
