I Just Called Both My Senators And My Congressman Re: Daschle....... |
|
All three are Dems. The response I got from their offices was 'lukewarm' at least with the two Senators - where in both cases the person I was speaking to was not really listening and just being polite. I heard whispering going on - like each was doing something else. But both said they would get my message of Dumping Daschle to the Senators. The Congressman's office person - told me he will get my message to the Congressman - but there is not a lot that the Congressman can do - as it looks like the Senate will confirm Daschle. I responded by saying - perhaps the Congressman can tell both Senators that he is getting negative calls in his office about Daschle from the voters in his district.
I basically told all three offices that I voted for Obama because I believed his message of wanting to change the way Washington does business. I indicated that even though Daschle is well-liked by his former colleagues - he has gamed the system - which is everything Obama campaigned against. I said - sometimes even nice guys need to be made an example of - so that others working their way through the system don't try pulling the same stuff. Daschle needs to take one for the President and needs to withdraw his name. If he doesn't he will severely impair the President and his message. I spent some time with some healthcare workers yesterday at a SuperBowl party and the sentiment from all of them was negative to Daschle.
If you believe like I do - please call your Senators and Representative in D.C.
