insurgency. If in this Country, the democrats started shooting the Republicans, would they be called insurgents? Iraq has a number of factions fighting each other. When you have Shiites killing Sunni's and visa versa, how can you call one side insurgents? I am belaboring this point because, in order to justify a war, it is important to demonize the enemy. Calling the enemy insurgents sounds better to those pushing the war than calling them Iraqi rebels.
