1. Brown was involved with
Veterans for Kerry.

"He cites Sen. John McCain’s failed presidential primary bid against George W. Bush in 2000; Georgia Democratic Sen. Max Cleland, a triple amputee who was wounded in Vietnam, who was accused by Republican foe Saxby Chambliss of being weak on national security in their 2002 Senate race; attacks on Sen. John Kerry during his presidential bid last year.

“We got started on Vets for Kerry. I was very disappointed with how Republicans went after vets like John McCain, Cleland, and Kerry,” he said. “A lot of military are tired of the lies. Veterans’ post-war care is falling behind. A lot of people don’t realize that three veterans a day in California commit suicide, and one-third of the homeless are veterans. And the divorce rate for (Iraq) veterans is up 73 percent.”"
