the focus on tax returns. I think it's besides the point and small. I think if you focus too much on it, and get the returns released, the emphasis could backfire if there's nothing there to write home about.

At the most, Obama could talk about how he's NOT going to demand tax return release because he wants to talk about things of importance. In this way, the tax return issue makes it into a sound bite in which he's clearly taking the high road.
