Keeping the idea in people's heads that this is a close race sets the stage for vote theft and the reinstallation of the monkey. If all the polls show Kerry up by double digits virtually everywhere in the country (which I figure has to be the case), then it's all too fishy when bush* "wins."

Being from RI, I freely admit that I live in arguably the most politically corrupt state in the union. But NJ has some history in that regard too. No telling what the BFEE might try to pull there, once they have everyone convinced that the state is a "statistical dead heat."
