Not one of the DUers you casually denounce as "stupid hypocrites" believes the story or expects it to be believed by anyone else, so apologies may be in order.

You are now talking this fake controversy at face value, which is part of the process. An obvious lie becomes as controversial and discussed as a fact would be, or even more so.

We will see several smears exactly like this leveled against Democrats in the next few weeks. And some DUers will say, "what's the truth?" I hope these scurilous threads will provide context for the next insane Kerry smear (which is their clear intention) I hope that when people start "talking" about Kerry's secret trip to North Vietnam or his gay affair at Yale we will remember these Laura threads.

There is no reason to examine a question just because somebody raises it.
