and similar threads is that attacks on women nearly always center on their sexuality, not their actions, not their ideas, not their personal stupidity - it's always their appearance or their sexuality. Talk about Ann Coulter, and you'll get five people to rant about her stupid ideas, and five hundred will make fun of her Adam's Apple or her anorexia. Talk about Laura Bush, and five people will talk about her recent forays into public speaking about stem-cell research, and five hundred will talk about her weight and the way she dresses. Who even notices the way Rush Limbaugh or Dick Cheney dress? Who cares whether Karl Rove has sex with his dog? But mention a woman that people don't like, and start counting down from 10 - you won't make it to 1 before someone mentions her appearance or her sexuality.
