149. for what it's worth
Pastor Warren and his ilk are campaigning to take away my right to govern my body. They'd like to turn me and other women into breeding machines who don't have the power to say NO, even if we are raped. That is a physical act of violence that then would lead to a lifetime of servitude as the parent of a child you did not want all because of his religious beliefs. Handmaid's tale, anyone?

That's pretty big issue to me.

But the guy hasn't been invited to write policy...so I'm hanging on to my currently me-controlled uterus for all it's worth and glad Obama is doing the progressive, inclusive things I voted for him to do by allowing other ideas and beliefs to be represented.

Now, if let's Pastor Warren set policies, me and my uterus will be VERY offended and will start many threads.

I'm NOT saying you shouldn't feel the way you do -- I'm just suggesting that when you say the athiests aren't complaining because he didn't campaign to take away their civil rights, you are forgetting or overlooking that he campaigned to take away a woman's right to run her own body, so my not being upset by this invitation is NOT because Warren doesn't threaten my civil and phyiscal rights. He sure does.
