I especially like the fact that you didn't point out that this is sarcasm.

I'm totally with you: it's a great big "So what?" that he took a shot and it didn't work. Big damned deal. There's nothing wrong with lobbying the powers that be, and there's no shame in not getting one's way. He was being a good CEO and booster; so what that they had other plans.
