Tonight on Countdown
------------------------------------------------------

President Bush on Wednesday takes his election-year agenda on the road to convince Americans he is addressing their concerns about high gasoline prices and health care costs. One day after outlining priorities on energy, health care, and economic competitiveness in his State of the Union address, Bush will go to Nashville, Tenn., to kick-off a campaign to sell his 2006 agenda to the public. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11125997/

Cindy Sheehan, mother of a fallen soldier in Iraq, wasn't the only one ejected from the House gallery during the State of the Union address for wearing a T-shirt with a war-related slogan that violated the rules. The wife of a powerful Republican congressman was also asked to leave. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11120353/

Countdown w/ Keith Olbermann broadcasts LIVE at 8 pm et, and the count is never complete without you. Join us.

Keith's exclusive interview with Michael Schiavo begins tonight. Looking back at the difficult time when overzealous politicians, and others, inserted themselves into a private matter.

Responding to a dramatic videotape of a police shooting, federal officials opened an investigation Tuesday into the conduct of a San Bernardino County sheriff's deputy who opened fire on a man who appeared to be following the deputy's order to get off the ground. A grainy videotape of the shooting in Chino was broadcast repeatedly on television Tuesday. The quality of the tape is poor, and it is difficult to clearly hear all the exchanges between the deputy and 21-year-old Elio Carrion during the seconds before the shooting. http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-highspeed1feb01,0,7570035.story?coll=la-home-headlines

Black activists on Tuesday called for the firing of police officers who were shown on live television swinging night sticks and punching and kicking a suspect after a car chase. The Missouri State Highway Patrol was investigating to see if the four officers involved had acted illegally. The suspect, Edmon Burns, 33, of St. Louis County, was treated at a hospital and released, and was jailed. No charges had been filed. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/01/31/AR2006013100572.html

Neil Entwistle was not seen at the funeral for his wife and 9-month-old daughter today in Plymouth. Entwistle left his parents' home in England Tuesday for an undisclosed location. He did not attend the wake last night. Investigators are still calling him a "person of interest" in the murders. http://cbs4boston.com/topstories/local_story_032073059.html

And a look at the lighter side of the State of the Union, with Mo Rocca.

That's some of what we're planning for tonight's show.

Finally,
A man who was stopped for driving erratically on a divided highway was distracted because he was looking at pornography, authorities said. David Kennedy, 33, of Nashville, was charged with felony reckless endangerment after motorist Deborah Dotson reported Friday afternoon that he nearly ran her vehicle off State Route 840 several times. "When I made contact with the driver of the suspect vehicle, a Mr. David Kennedy, there were several pornographic magazines on the seat next to him," Hall said in his report. http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/D/DISTRACTING_PORN?SITE=NWCN&TEMPLATE=STRANGEHEADS.html&SECTION=HOME
