It would have been far better for her to sit quietly, refusing to applaud a single word, and perhaps make some grimaces that the camera would no doubt focus on. Unlike the congressmen, she's a citizen and her reactions would carry far more weight than those of, say, Hillary.

In fact, I would have loved to see the camera continue to cut back to her throughout the speech. It would have taken all the post-debate spin off of Bush's bullshit and onto her presence, hanging over Bush like the gloomy grey cloud of the electorate.

Instead, she makes a foolish bull-in-a-china shop spectacle. I sympathize with her cause, but her 15 minutes are seriously over.
