Reply #2: This fellow has started persecuting Iranian Sufis

Sufism is the mystical sect of Islam, and is, by and large, progressive or even liberal in its outlook. The Iranian president recently had the house and teaching center of a Sufi teacher bulldozed and burnt. Sufis who had come to peacefully protest were arrested (between 1 and 2 thousand), some were tortured, and some have yet to be released. This particular Sufi Order was said to have ties to the West and thus were condemned (Sufism is made of many different Orders, most of which are international in scope), and the mureeds (students) were warned not to be practicing their faith, which is considered heretical.
