We haven't done all that well ourselves lately. We had the Evil Regime of Thatcher, and then sacked the Tories only to find ourselves betrayed by the revolting Labour-in-name-only Poodle. Perhaps this will be the nail in his coffin.

As battle commences between a Republican President and a Democrat Party poised to regain the ascendancy in American politics, Mr Blair will reread his gospels and sorrowfully reflect that no poodle can serve two masters (Matt 6:24, approx.). The spectacle of a British prime minister anxious to kowtow, but confused about whom to kowtow to, will be truly pitiful.
