Family found shot to death in Tilden Regional Park released

BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) - More details are emerging about the Berkeley family found shot to death in Tilden Regional Park in an apparent murder-suicide.

East Bay Park District Police have identified the two dead adults as 51-year-old Kevin Morrissey and his wife, 40-year-old Mamiko Kawai.

Kawai was a doctor.

The couple's two children were identified as eight-year-old Nikki Morrissey and six-year-old Kim Morrissey. They had also been shot.

A 357-Magnum revolver, which was registered to Morrissey, was found at the scene.

Authorities also found a suicide note at the scene they believe to have been written by the adult male. In the note the person who wrote it describes financial problems at the couple's skin care practice.
