I have a close friend who works for a media corporation. In the past I've told my friend all about the Carlyle Group.

My friend came across this in a publication call CableFAX Daily.

Thursday -- September 6, 2007
Volume 18/ No 173

FCC chmn
Kevin Martin told members of Congress that it’s too soon to tell whether private equity ownership of media properties has a negative impact. He made the comments in a letter responding to questions from Reps John Dingell (D-MI) and Ed Markey (D-MA). Martin said the Commission would monitor the role of private equity and “consider whether certain changes to our attribution rules may be warranted.” The Dems’ questions stemmed from deals such as Univision’s sale to a group of private equity firms and Verizon’s sale of a HI phone company to the Carlyle Group.

...end

I haven't heard about this sale anywhere in our media. When I Googled Verizon + Carlyle Group, it does show that there has been talk about this sale.

...This is crazy, the government wants to data mind our phone calls---gets guff from phone company---Bush company buys phone company.
