Another Christmas where we wage war in a season of peace

This Christmas once again sees the US once more fighting an imperial war in a far off land.

Despite the illegality, the utter futility, not to mention the immorality of these wars, we continue to find ourselves involved in Iraq and Afghanistan, with bonus hot spots in Pakistan and Yemen.

Today there will be shots fired, people injured and killed, both soldiers and civilians, all in a series of pointless conflicts that do nothing except fill the coffers of the MIC.

This is not a Christian nation, nor a Christian president, not when we continue to inflict this kind of death and destruction on so many innocent people. We certainly aren't following the teachings of Christ right now. The hypocrisy of this is simply astounding.

How long will this continue? Apparently for the foreseeable future. Now having doubled down not once, but twice in Afghanistan, Obama is opening up new wars in Pakistan and Yemen. Why?

So, on this fine snowy Christmas day, can you step back and take a critical look. Can you live with yourself knowing that while you are eating a fine dinner, enjoying the company of friends and family, opening presents around the tree, innocent men and women are suffering and dying, not for your sins, but certainly in your name.

We elected this man, we put him into office, the blame rests on our shoulders this Christmas, the blood is on our hands. If you don't want to face this moral problem next year, get out and work to end these wars.

"And so this is Christmas
for weak and for strong,
for rich and the poor ones.
The road is so long.
And so happy Christmas
for black and for white,
for yellow and red ones.
Let's stop all the fight.
A very merry Christmas
and a happy new year.
Let's hope it's a good one
without any fear. " John Lennon
