14. Not racism, but classism
It seems like racism because most of our poor are minorities. "The public" also includes poor white people, who they look down on just as much (see: "white trash".) I have run across a few of them who even call the elderly "lazy" for collecting Social Security instead of working. These people just can't stand the idea of people getting something for nothing. It doesn't matter what color the people are.
