Why would you want to divorce the Democratic Party?

It would be insane, under the present circumstances.

It would be nice to see a Party promote and pass campaign finance reform and get the corporate interests out of our government. It would be nice to have Representatives and Senators that represented the people rather than those that are stuffing their pockets so they can continue their "careers".

It would be nice to have a Party that appreciated their own supporters on the Left moreso than they do the crazy radicals on the Right, whom they continue to compromise with on almost every issue.

It would be nice to have a Party that would fight the status quo, win or lose. And it would be nice to know, without a doubt, that your Party would let the Bush taxcuts expire and would promote a more progressive tax rate. It would nice to have a Party that could save us from Third World status.

But we have what we have and the only other option is much, much worse. So there you are. What do you do?
