The Christian case did receive a lot of news coverage, but wingers like Charlie chose to use it as an opportunity to fan the flames of racism among their ranks. I received dozens of spam emails from conservative acquaintances about the case, all full of anger and vitriol.

Let's hope the recent rape and torture of the black woman by whites isn't blowback.
