68. Who wins the county is irrelevant -- it's who wins the state that matters.
Who wins the county you live in is totally irrelevant in a presidential election. The only thing that matters is who wins the state. So even if your county is strongly Democratic, if you vote for a Democrat then your vote will help counter the vote of a Republican in some other county of your state.
Just in case that matters to you. Or, if not, maybe I'll save someone else from the misconception -- although I certainly hope that on DU there are very few who don't already know this.
