the 'treasure' of the "so-called 'christ'ian conservatives"?
In tax-cuts- in laws restricting individual freedoms- in judging others- in keeping "us" safe-
Those aren't Jesus' issues-
He wanted the sick healed, the hungry fed, the rich and powerful abusers humbled.
He asked that we live as if we were "they"-
That we not be overly concerned about 'things'- but rather trust in the provisions of each other.
He wasn't hung up on "appearances"- the squeaky clean "Photo Op" facade.
He wanted us to live our caring and love for one another- and in return, we'd come closer to the "kingdom of heaven" which he said
is among us.
He had some pretty harsh words for hypocrites.- those who like to stand on the streets making long prayers- wearing big "phylacteries" on their arms to show the world how 'pious' they were- busy polishing the outside of their cups, while neglecting the inside.
The part that really matters.
Who loved the chief seats - and high places.
Jesus was a friend to those this present society of 'religious' fanatics condemn as heathens-
harlots- sinners-
And it is far too often, among those where the only genuine glimpses of him are ever seen.
(sorry for the sermon- i'm frustrated by how messages of hope and love and good news are used to do so much harm- justify so much hatred)

peace~
