Dennis Kucinich did his homework with more than a passing thought. He's not grandstanding; he's very serious about it. The Articles of Impeachment for both Cheney and Bush are not based on thin air. One only has to read them to see the background information and hard data that was collected, often from other government sources.

It doesn't take months to get votes; all it takes is the will. The poll numbers already show Bush's approval ratings in the 20's, probably lower than that given our untrustworthy media. Cheney is even less popular than Bush. If honest impeachment hearings were actually held, the public fury would be unstoppable, even given how beholden Congress is to lobbyists' bribes, cronyism, and complicity.

They know this. THAT is why, especially when it comes to complicity, Nancy won't put impeachment "on the table." All it would take is to get the articles on the table and on the air just for a few days and it would be a done deal. The house of cards would fall, and that scares the crap out of the Executive branch and at least eight Congresscritters to the point that all the rest* are being bought, blackmailed, or browbeaten into line.

The situation is disgraceful, but it has nothing to do with lack of preparedness or lack of evidence, or - given hard facts in the light of day - lack of votes demanded by an informed people.

*eta: I should say almost all the rest. Kudos to
