13. The way I look at it.
I have one vote that may or may not be counted. So rather than be bullied by slogans and guilt trips my choice this time is to vote my conscience whether it counts or not. That's my reality and the one I have to deal with.

I don't blame people for holding onto hope or looking for change, I do understand the concept but I also understand the reality of where we are right now.

I had my hopes up in 2000 and 2004 and 2006 and for this look what we got. I deal with massive anxiety and panic attacks and the election day of 2004 I walked 2 miles to vote for Kerry when my car would not start. This was close to impossible for me and I was on my cell to my wife the entire time just to breath and steady my hands enough to punch the ballot. The next day I watched Kerry toss my efforts down the toilet. But I did it again in 2006 with much if not more of the very same inner battle to breath and see now how this worked out.

So I just can't muster up the hope again. Look at what we have to even begin to overcome and it did not have to be this way at all.

It reminds me of the abusive spouse telling the abused I promise never to do it again , then comes the next broken tooth or black eye.
