103. By what standard do you consider them incompetent?
From where I'm sitting, they're succeeding beyond even their own wildest dreams. No doubt Bushie himself is a complete idiot, a total incompetent and more like a cartoon character than a human.

But the people who pull his strings are a clever, conniving bunch of sociopaths and misanthropes. They understand how to plan, execute and manage the aftermath of cataclysmic events. And how to take advantage of their own ministry of propaganda -- mislabeled as "TV news" -- to manipulate the public into drawing the approved conclusions and producing the correct emotional response.

With all the scam's complex elements in place and functioning as planned and the people parroting every single official lie they've been fed a thousand times a day, they then used the whole contrived masterpiece of bullshit to divert attention from their real objective -- robbing the country blind. The Bush international crime syndicate has been in overdrive ever since, having the time of their miserable lives robbing the poor and rewarding the rich.

And in stark tribute to the density of the average American skull, a large percentage of the public still believes the Bushies are doing everything possible to keep them safe from the murdering evildoers who hate America because we can buy houses and shop til we drop. The rest think they're too stupid to know up from down unless they drop a car battery to see if it breaks a toe or a cranial bone.

Either way -- heroic warriors working tirelessly to prevent the next attack by the evildoers, or clowns so dumb that a collective IQ in double digits would be a significant step up -- the slime buckets skate again.

These are not the results you'd expect from an operation planned and carried out by incompetents. Nobody's going to get busted, much less convicted, for any of their crimes. Nobody's going to have any money problems for the rest of their lives. Nobody's going to shoot them because they'll be surrounded by hired Blackwater mercenaries who will take a bullet for money. So it looks like they're in pretty good shape, considering their role in "the events of 9/11"(tm) and the international crime wave they launched immediately after.

Here's the opening paragraphs from an article I wrote a while ago on this very subject:

9/11 and the incompetence excuse: Could a bunch of sociopathic screw-ups really pull off the crime of the century?

Many who deny government complicity in 9/11/01 maintain that some of the best evidence against official involvement in the crime of the century lies in the Bush administration's unbroken record of sheer incompetence, an argument bolstered by the perception that key members of the administration, notably The Commander Guy, spent that entire day running around like headless chickens.

On the contrary, they did no such thing. Rather, the administration was highly competent and enormously successful that day -- they just had different criteria for success than would sane people. And they've been highly competent ever since. You just have to adjust your standards for evaluating success, then view the past six years through the PNAC/neocon lens.

Still sounds about right to me. There's nothing the murdering bastards have done since to change my mind.
