1. Adobe hasn't gotten a penny from me since CS2...
...and I'm sure there are others who can say the same.

I use these tools for a living, designing Websites and creating desktop publishing pieces / business cards / etc...

I have the final Macromedia suite, Studio 8, and was foolish enough to buy EACH upgrade component of Adobe Creative Suite 2 individually, rather than the suite upgrade itself...which means they hose you on future upgrades.

But the economy pretty much killed what used to be faithful, regular upgrades IMMEDIATELY upon their release.

The reality is that I can do my job, and quite well, with the tools that I have, and the obligatory "workflow improvements" don't really entice me, because I don't need them, plain and simple.

So take the $1500+ I would have spent on the last two suites, multiply that by every other person who does what I do for a living and is in a similar situation, and you get "Adobe layoffs."

It's too bad, because they will kill of some talented and hard working people while holding onto overpaid space-wasters, just like every other company that lays people off...and all I can say is "Welcome to 2009."
