The warnings of the original critics are turning out to be blitheringly accurate. I was reading in July that the public option was already history, that deals had been cut, and that the focus was upon ensuring that coporate america was not going to shift over to the GOP. In the end, that's basically what has happened. Oh, and Gitmo isn't closing either, and I'm pretty sure that's going to last longer than Jan, 2011. Truth is, all they were promising was a change of address. And no one will ever be prosecuted for torture, and we'll still be in Afghanistan in 2016.
