Plus often the "throw the bastards out" statement only applies to those elected officials that are outside of the voting precinct of the person making the statement. People often like their elected representatives.

I tend to disapprove of term limits as truly great politicians like Ted Kennedy would have had to retire from office.

Perhaps limiting campaign financing might work, but it always seems to fail in real life.

But still, through our history we have often been able to implement change by our vote. As long as our voting system is not controlled but is honest and fair, the voters have a chance to make wise decisions.
