Bernie Sanders asked me, so I did it

Senator Bernie Sanders pleaded with all of us to write out Congresscritters and tell them to stand up for the middle class.

Well I just sent off my email to both my Senators and my Representative. All 3 are Dems. Have you? Here's what I said:

to my senators:

Sir...

I am writing you to express my disgust at the current Tax/Unemployment Bill that will be voted on by members of both houses in the coming week.

The bill is an affront to all decent, hard working VOTERS who are trying to make ends meet, heat their homes, feed their families, go to the doctor and just basically LIVE in this mess of an economy over which the Democrats have allowed the Republicans to throttle the American people.

Your most illustrious and distinguished colleague from Vermont, Senator Bernie Sanders, spent 8 hours making an impassioned plea and going on the record with his objections to it. Funny, I didn't see you anywhere in that chamber on Friday. Why was that? It would appear by your absence and silence that you agree with what is going to be foisted upon the American people and the people of ___________(my state here). Sherrod Brown of Ohio and Mary Landrieu of Louisiana made their voices heard.

Why are you quiet, Sir? Why were you not speaking up for the working people and the middle class in the well of the Senate on Friday? Are our pockets not deep enough for your attention?

Your vote will be watched very closely. From this vote and this vote alone, I will make my decision on where to cast my support and my vote when your turn for re-election comes around.

Look deeply inside your conscience, Sir. Be on the right side of history when this all falls out in experience over time. Our country is at stake.

please do not add my email address to your mass mailing list unless you vote to let the tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans expire and extend them for folks making less than $250k. Also, please do not vote to reduce the payroll tax (aka "payday loan tax") or for changing/decreasing the Estate Tax for the wealthiest of the wealthiest of the wealthy Americans.

The most illustrious and distinguished Senator from Vermont, Bernie Sanders, spent 8 hours making an impassioned plea from the floor of the Senate on Friday and went on the record with his objections to it. Will there be anyone in the House of Representatives who will steel their spine and speak out in such a fashion when the time comes?

Will you remain quiet and sell out the middle class with your vote to enrich further those who are causing "camels to fly through eyes of needles", Sir? Will you be speaking up for the working people and the middle class in the well of the Senate on Friday? Or are our pockets not deep enough for your attention?

Your vote will be watched very closely. From this vote and this vote alone, I will make my decision on where to cast my support and my vote when your turn for re-election comes around.

What have you written to your congresscritter?
