Is this a weird request?

I can't tell if it is or not.

My boyfriend has a coworker whose son is moving to a little town where MY coworker lives. He (my boyfriend) wanted me to give him my coworker's contact info so that this guy could ask him about housing etc. in this town. Not sure my coworker knows much about that sort of thing but I felt uncomfortable giving out this information without asking my coworker's permission first, which I have not had a chance to do. I thought it was just a weird request altogether. If someone had asked it of me, I would have refused. I don't want to talk to someone I do not know. But then I am an antisocial asshole.
