133. The very sad thing about this, speaking as a physician ---
- now that my sense of justice served, and victim helped has been met - Is that I realize the people who are still most likely going to be the ones ending up really suffering from this are the daughters.

It is a common-place that children who are abused by their parents (usually it is the father) have a deep belief that they in some way deserved to be punished.

The abuser generally does not have, and will never have, either remorse or an understanding that what they did was truly horrible.

I fear that the daughter who was brave, and perhaps threatened, enough to release this horrific video (which I will not watch) is going to suffer remorse for hurting her father by exposing - literally to the world - his savage behavior. She will end up feeling that remorse which he should feel for hurting her, she will feel guilt he can never comprehend.

I do hope that she can be provided with appropriate counseling (if there can be any such) to deal with the feelings of guilt and betrayal which I expect she is going to feel. Feelings that her father will never share.

The State of Texas failed in its duty to protect this child from her parents, I hope (but do not trust) that Texas will not fail in its duty to help her to heal.

Gov Rick: Do you have anything to say on this matter? You could ensure that such duty is met. Though I doubt you have either the compassion, or the courage, to do so.
