IAEA to debate Israel's nuclear program
IAEA to debate Israel's nuclear program

By DPA

VIENNA - The International Atomic Energy Agency
(IAEA) was set to discuss Israel's nuclear program
during its general conference Monday to Friday,
reports said.

A debate on the presumed atomic
weapons power Israel was on the
agenda along with Iran, Iraq
and North Korea.

Observers said they expected
heated altercations among the
136 member-states of the IAEA.
Arab states have frequently
complained that the IAEA has
been silent so far about Israel.
Important decisions are not expected at the
general conference, as they are usually made in
the IAEA Council of Governors which met last
week.

Last Friday the Council of Governors set a
deadline for Iran to give detailed information
about its controversial nuclear program by the
end of October. The demand prompted a walkout
by the Iranian delegation from the conference
chamber.

1. Israel Will Be Reprimanded
I believe this is the standard line whenever the IAEA actually works up the spine to talk about the worst-kept secret in international relations.

They get officially reprimanded, everyone pats themselves on the back, life goes on.

3. US and WMD/nuclear
Why isn't the US on their list? After all dumbo has pulled out of the nuclear proliferation treaty.

6. If you accuse Israel of having nuclear or chemical weapons
they refuse to talk to you. About anything. It happened to the BBC.

It's such a childish response. Unfortunately that means a bunch of emotionally stunted fools are in charge of dangerous arms.

7. more than just refusing to talk to you
they label you anti-semitic - which, of course, I am sure will change once we get a brave Democrat in office who will be more "even-handed".

8. The IAEA knows about
the US and Russia's programs, but they know zero about Israel's WMD's. What's wrong with this picture?
